Question Title
Why are there 2 different types of browse functions for your site?
We have found (along with our customers) that the original browse/search function of the site does not pull accurate images for the search term. The reason for this is that the original search feature searches only the images "tags". Because tags are assigned to an image by the designer it is up to the designer to be accurate in their description of the image. Unfortunately, a number of designers do not use the practice of less tags (yet more accurate) is better for all, than more tags (every word under the sun) means no one can find what they are looking for.
Our solution to this was to come up with a tried and truer search database. Each image in our new system has been reviewed by a number of our associates while going through a three step filtration process. The first step is to have one of our associates place it into a general (although accurate) keyword (or words) group. The second process allows another associate to rename the image according to what the image is. Lastly, yet another associate looks at every product the image is placed on to see if it fits appropriately. This process allows our new search to be more accurate and precise because the search function is not using tags, but a general keyword (or words) and a descriptive title. This process also allows us to not include any images we find inappropriate or that potentially have copyright issues.
