Crystal Clear Enamel
A clear coat of enamel that is painted on top of the image to protect it from the elements.

Direct Printing
A printing technique used to print directly onto the product vice printing onto a label (or other adhesive paper) and applying it to the product.

DPI
DPI stands for dots per inch. For our use, dots means pixels. So, pixels per inch is what we really mean (don`t ask me why the accepted technical term is DPI). The default value of DPI in most image editing programs is 72 dpi. Meaning 72 pixels per inch. So if you looked at a 4x6 photo that was printed in 72 dpi there would be 288 pixels by 432 pixels. The image would not be clearly detailed because it was in 72 dpi. We recommend a minimum of 150 dpi, but suggest at least a 300 dpi.

Heat Transfer
A printing technique used to print onto a label (or other adhesive paper) and applying it to the product through heat vice printing directly onto the product.

Pixel
A pixel (in this instance) is used as a measuring term for an image. X amount of pixels by Y amount of pixels. The more pixels an image has, the more detailed it can be.

Print on Demand
Print on Demand is a term used to describe the way a business creates it`s printed products, on demand rather than having the product printed in large quantity and stored in inventory. This allows individuals to create a design and have it placed on one product with no concern of setup fees or minimum purchases. It also allows for designers to sell their designs on a number of products with no up-front manufacturing fees.
